Maritime Heritage and Sail Tours on Whidbey Island

WIMHF Standing Committees and responsibilities (Chairperson)

Steering Committee (Gary McIntyre)

Coordinates all other committees, sets schedules, recommends operations changes to BOD.  Chaired by a board member when possible.

Finance Committee (Jason Magee, Joe Blanchette)

Plans and recommends budget to BOD.  Chaired by Treasurer when possible.  Should be a member of Steering Committee.

Maintenance Committee (Kirby Stevens)

Plans and coordinates short term and long term maintenance plans.  Recommends maintenance budget to Finance Committee and BOD.  Chair should be a member of Steering Committee.

Membership Committee (Chris Bradley)

Maintains membership website and associated programs.  Recommends policies and practices that affect membership terms.  Coordinates with Steering Committee.  Recruits and maintains relationships with business community and business membership.  Chairperson whould be a member of Steering Committee.

Marketing/Outreach Committee (Tim Neal)

Responsible for presentations to the community.  Prepares displays for local display, including those at the Coupeville public library and museum.  Searches out opportunities to present the Foundation and it's programs to community members and associations.  Chairperson whould be a member of Steering Committee.

Sustainable Fundraising Committee (T.B.D.)

Responsible for planning and conducting fundraising activities for the Foundation and Schooner Suva.  Coordinates with Finance Committee for budget guidance.  Chairperson should be familiar with the budget and active with the Steering Committee.

Our Mission: To create awareness of the Maritime Heritage of Whidbey Island,  Coupeville, and Penn Cove through education of, promoting, and preserving its maritime traditions.
